KCCT led a multi-phased modernization of the National Building Museum over a multi-year period, enhancing both its historic architecture and visitor experience. The work included gallery renovations, climate control upgrades, exterior landscaping, and accessibility improvements.

This system set a benchmark in museum environmental standards and was recognized by the AIA in Historic Resource Facilities.

Site improvements reflected the original vision of a “building in the park,” with curving walkways, garden restoration, and accessible entrances that helped revitalize the surrounding Judiciary Square area.
