US Embassy
The US Embassy acquired the property in 1924. KCCT designed the phased renovation and restoration of this historic structure over an extended period of time, including the renovation of the original structure to stringent local preservation standards. This work included historic restoration of the masonry and plaster, the windows, and the roof using locally certified craftsmen.

Schoenborn Palace is one of the most significant historic properties in the US Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations portfolio, and is listed in the Secretary of State’s Register of Culturally Significant Property. The renovation is an example of highly technical historic preservation and required sensitive resolution of building systems and security upgrades.
