From one Washington, DC office, KCCT's work spans 227 global cities in virtually every climate and region.

Strength in Foundation
Founded by four partners and three associates in the District of Columbia, KCCT emerged from a shared commitment to meaningful architecture. Over the years, that commitment has guided our growth—broadening our expertise, strengthening our teams, and forging collaborations that extend across fields and borders. Today, it underpins our ability to address complexity with clarity and imagination.
Through planning initiatives for key civic corridors and design stewardship of some of the city's most monumental assets, KCCT has helped shape the character of Washington, DC's defining public spaces.

In the beginning, my partners and I leveraged our close relationships with transit authorities to establish ourselves in the world of transportation design. This work took us beyond our DC roots to become a global design presence.John Chapman

Resilience in Practice
Resilience is fundamental to KCCT—both in how we operate and in the buildings we design. In the late 1980s, we leveraged our international transportation portfolio and local civic work to expand globally, becoming recognized leaders in the design of embassies and secure facilities worldwide. This pivot demonstrated our adaptability, foresight, and strategic vision.
Our buildings, too, are designed for longevity: high-performing, enduring, and built to respond to evolving needs. This commitment to resilience ensures that KCCT, and the architecture we produce, are prepared to meet the challenges of the future with innovation and purpose.

Forward Through History
Our history informs our future. Lessons learned and expertise honed across continents and typologies guide every new challenge. KCCT’s legacy lives not only in what we have built, but what we are poised to create next: architecture that uplifts, inspires, and leaves a lasting imprint on communities around the world.
