Residential And Interior Hero

US Consulate

Casablanca, Morocco

KCCT serves as architect of record in a design-build partnership to deliver a 12-building US Consulate campus in Casablanca’s Casa Anfa district, including the Marine Security Guard Residence. The residential component is designed to provide secure, comfortable living spaces within a diplomatic compound while supporting community and well-being for residents stationed abroad. Shaded outdoor terraces carved from the building mass create “sky gardens”—protected open-air spaces that offer opportunities for respite, conversation, and views of the surrounding neighborhood. Inspired by Moroccan culture, each sky garden features unique plantings, layouts, and colorful tile that bring character and identity to shared residential amenities.

The architecture draws from local craft traditions and climate-responsive design strategies to create a comfortable living environment. A perforated stainless-steel screen provides solar control while referencing traditional Moroccan patterns, and light-colored exterior materials respond to Casablanca’s architectural context. Interior spaces introduce rich color through zellige tile, terrazzo, and natural wood, creating warm, welcoming environments that contrast with the bright exterior. Together with high-performance building systems and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces, the residence supports a balanced residential experience within a secure diplomatic setting.
