Dara Merritt is an ID Designer in KCCT’s interiors team. Dara has always been creative, but her interest in interior design did not spark until an inspiring course she took in college. She is EDAC- and, most recently, NCDIQ-certified, and has been an active participant in DCBIA's community builds and Habitat for Humanity. In her spare time, she enjoys making art, travel, and eating good food.
What made you want to be a Designer?
I was always creative but ultimately it was an inspiring course I took in college that gave me more understanding of the field.
How has KCCT helped you in your career development?
KCCT has provided me with good foundational experience on all phases of project completion which ultimately aided me in passing my Interior Design NCIDQ certification and made me a better designer as a whole.
What motivates you at work?
Being able to create interior spaces that transform and enhance daily life motivates me.
What is your most-used productivity hack?
Accomplishing the smaller tasks so I can focus my energy on the larger tasks at hand.
What do you like to do in your free time? Or hobbies?
I like to make art, travel and eating good food.
