Headshot Janezich

Anton is a Washington, DC-based architect who has worked with some of the world’s leading architectural firms, designing and authoring construction documents for major mixed-use, commercial, and residential projects, as well as large-scale public art installations. His body of work spans Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and his design vision is informed by an awareness and application of the cultural, economic, and intellectual complexities of our modern world. He believes that architecture should blend into the specific forms and attributes of its locale, respond to the business and social needs of those it serves, and remain respectful of clients’ resources, program, and agenda.

With over four decades of private and public-sector professional experience, Anton brings comprehensive expertise across all phases of design and delivery, from schematic and design development through construction documentation and administration. He joined KCCT in 2016 as a key member of the firm’s global embassy practice. For KCCT, he leads multidisciplinary teams on complex, security-sensitive projects, including multi-building campuses, major amenity buildings, and campus access control improvements for US embassies across multiple continents.

Prior to KCCT, Anton’s embassy portfolio included the detailed design of the exterior wall of the US Embassy in Ottawa, as well as the development of land-use and masterplan options informing the real estate deal of the new US Embassy campus strategy in London.

Early in his career, he was mentored by associates of Mies van der Rohe’s office, where he learned the subtle design of exterior curtain walls from the experts who trailblazed this art form in the mid-20th century.

Anton’s work has been recognized with numerous design awards, including the first AIA National Award for BIM Technology, as well as honors from the IIDA and Inform Awards. His portfolio encompasses modern and historic mixed-use master planning efforts and their component buildings and infrastructure, as well as corporate and residential projects that balance contemporary design with attention to craft and detail.
