KCCT was honored to accept three prestigious awards for the Embassy of Australia at the NAIOP DC|MD Awards of Excellence Ceremony, which celebrates outstanding achievement in real estate. The Embassy was recognized for the Best of the Best Interiors Award, an Award of Excellence for Best Interiors Over 75,000 SF, and an Award of Merit for Best Institutional Design, underscoring the project’s design excellence, cultural resonance, and workplace innovation.

Prominently located on Scott Circle, the new Embassy replaces its longtime predecessor with a six-story building that reflects Australia’s values of openness, sustainability, and inclusivity. Realized as a design collaboration between KCCT as architect of record and Bates Smart as lead designer, the Embassy blends natural materials, high-performance systems, and culturally significant public spaces to project a welcoming, future-forward diplomatic presence in the heart of Washington, DC.

The Embassy of Australia has also received additional honors in the past month, including an Award of Honor for Interior Design from the AIA Virginia Chapter, an ENR Mid-Atlantic Best Project Award, and the Outstanding Project Over 200,000 SF Lambda Alpha International George Washington Chapter Outstanding Project Over 200,000 SF Award.
