Gayle Kirchmar has become the tenth principal in KCCT history, marking a new chapter of firm leadership.

KCCT is pleased to announce that Gayle Kirchmar has been elevated to Principal within the firm. A leader in human-centered mission-critical design, Kirchmar’s interdisciplinary leadership delivers state-of-the-art workspaces for KCCT’s clients that advance national security operations and promote wellness in high-stress environments. Her business acumen, solutions-driven design approach, and ability to connect with clients and mentor colleagues are integral to firm growth. Her dynamic portfolio reflects her commitment to elevating the human experience through architecture, ranging in scale from small tenant fit-outs to entire campus redevelopments.

“I am looking forward to expanding KCCT’s domestic design presence,” said Kirchmar. “Inherent in KCCT values and culture is a deep regard for our clients and the built environment, and I am excited to continue to play a key role in this as part of the firm’s leadership.”

A graduate of Virginia Tech and longtime DC resident, Kirchmar advocates for emerging designers, providing direction and opportunities for the realization of creative visions. Prior to joining KCCT in 2002, she specialized in community development and stabilization projects to facilitate Washington, DC’s ongoing renaissance, including the University of the District of Columbia renovations, the Mary Church Terrell House for Howard University, and the Ellen Wilson Community Center.

“Gayle’s direction and attention to detail, from concept through construction, are unparalleled,” said KCCT Principal Christopher Peoples. “She has been an important contributor to our legacy, and her leadership abilities will continue to drive our success.”
