U.S. Embassy

The 1950s Modernist U.S. Embassy provided a complete working and living environment on a single site. Following extensive surveys assessing conditions and deficiencies, the restoration design improved energy measures by installing new efficient HVAC systems and re-gasketing and re-glazing windows with laminated glass. The design also enhanced the appearance of the site by cleaning and repairing the marble and stone façades and concealing existing mechanical equipment via a specially designed screen. The adjacent three story staff housing structure was previously connected to an embassy office building. KCCT replaced its deteriorated exterior tile covering with an aluminum composite panel cladding.
