Aurora Transportation Center

KCCT developed the master plan for the multi-modal transportation center that includes a rail yard for train storage and maintenance, an 18 bus transfer terminal, and an 800 car parking lot. Historically significant buildings on the site, such as the 1856 Burlington Northern mechanical shop building and round house, were designated for historic preservation as part of the adaptive reuse project that transformed the existing buildings into a commuter rail station. A development plan links the transportation center to the City of Aurora, while incorporating a rehabilitation and revitalization plan for the historic structures on the site.
