The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines occupies two sites in Manila. The Main Chancery Compound borders the Bay of Manila on two sides and the GSO Compound is located just a mile south. The renovation design addressed security concerns of the both sites and the 1940s Federal Modern-style Chancery. Security improvements included perimeter security, compound access control, visitor access and flow, lighting, and technical security systems. KCCT also designed a new American Center in the adjacent annex building on the main compound. The Chancery is listed on the Secretary of State's Register of Culturally Significant Properties and a designated property of the National Historical Institute of the Philippines.
