Internal Revenue Service: New Façades

The addition of two façades to the IRS Building became one of the first parts of the Federal Triangle Master Plan implementation. Located between dissimilar exteriors that had never been intended to be seen as part of one building, the solution received major recognition from GSA and the American Institute of Architects juried competition. In addition the project was published by the AIA Historic Resource Facilities; where the authors stated that, "The projects, fascinating in their attention to accuracy, often take place over many years with results that reflect preservation in the truest sense."
