Department of State Main State Modernization

Acting with delegated authority from GSA as The Historic Preservation Officer, KCCT sought to preserve the most architecturally and historically significant spaces of the "Old State" portion of the Harry S Truman Building. The preservation design restored the original finishes and fixtures of the East Entrance lobby, Art-Deco style elevator lobbies, 5th floor reception room, and high ceiling executive offices, including the historic office of George C. Marshall. Importantly, the design seamlessly incorporated essential security measures into the building's historic fabric.
