Port-au-Prince U.S. Embassy Compound

Situated on a four-hectare site, this compound includes the New Chancery Office Building (NOB), Marine Security Guard Quarters, Utility Building, Warehouse, GSO Annex, Recreation Building, and three Compound Access Control Buildings. KCCT was responsible for the master planning of the entire site and the detailed design and construction administration of the NOB. The project from design to completion followed a 28-month schedule. The extremely hot temperatures became one of the project's major challenges and solar studies were conducted in order to site the building and shade the complex to enhance energy efficiency North-facing clerestory windows illuminate the interior atrium, with cool natural light adding to the energy efficiency of the buildings.
