Located in the Miramar residential neighborhood with a prominent view of the Atlantic, this new embassy compound is constructed on a small site. Due to size limitations, it is the most blast resistant embassy that the U.S. Department of State has ever built. At the time of its design, it was OBO's most energy efficient embassy, using 30% less energy than comparable buildings. Stucco and limestone exterior finishes, terracotta roof tiles, and muntin type windows complement the architecture of the adjacent neighborhood.
