The embassy compound in Kingston followed a 24 month design-build schedule. Responding to the trapezoidal site, the interior tapered atrium provides an indoor common space and functions as a venue for large meetings and receptions. Bridges spanning the atrium connect the two separate office blocks with differing security requirements for consular functions. The exterior of the building responds to local conditions by incorporating limestone and stucco on the facades, and canopies at entrances for weather protection.
