Marine Security Guard Residence

The new U.S. Consulate in Guayaquil was formerly aa 11-acre corporate headquarters site. It contains a new Consulate building, two campus access pavilion buildings and a utility building.  Five out-buildings constructed in the 1990s before the U.S. Government acquired the property currently occupy the northern portion of the site.

The primary objective of this project is to convert the NCC from a lock and leave facility to a 24/7 guarded facility with a marine detachment. This involves interior renovations to the new Consulate for marine facilities and Post 1 modifications, a new marine residence and associated site improvements. The Project will also include demolition of three of the existing out-buildings and renovation of two existing out-buildings to provide support functions which were not originally provided for the original Consulate.  Building D will be renovated to provide an exercise room, expendable supply storage, showers, and local guard change facilities, and a compound emergency sanctuary. Building F will be renovated to include shop facilities and drivers lounge, showers, and changing rooms.
