The lounge now reflects the transparency of our government. The renovation changed the area into a warm environment where visitors can see through the lounge from the public corridor to view the magnificent 20-foot bronze sculpture, "The Expanding Universe", in the courtyard that had been virtually hidden over the years by walls and gates. The designers set translucent glass beside small seating areas to provide intimate places for privacy. Oak paneled walls added to the room's stature to support the many ceremonial functions held in the space.
