Columbia Plaza

The two major interior projects within the modernization are of special interest: the design of a childcare center and cafeteria. Expanding the childcare center by 30% accommodated an additional 41 children. Due to the limited window perimeter and requirements of childcare facilities, the design incorporated windows in the hallways to allow natural light to penetrate into interior spaces. The cafeteria design provided attractive servery stations supporting a seating area for 350. The use of low translucent partitions in the cafeteria maximizes natural light from the limited window perimeter.
