KCCT provided architectural design and construction administration services for this 1909 station renovation.  A new entrance structure, tunnel ventilation, substation and deep escalators and stairs provide a new image and a major safety upgrade.  Projecting into the Hudson River opposite the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan.
 
The Station and its plaza are designed to take advantage of the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline and to link development and access along the waters edge.  The building is clad in high performance silver-grey aluminum paneling with a soft rose banding.  Deep red trim and polished stainless steel provide accents.  The floor and plaza are grey granite as are the solid stir treads.  The walls are patterned tile with granite trim.  A polished aluminum and neon sculpture runs the entire length of the flat arched escalator ceiling.
