Department of State: Bureau of South Asian Affairs

The Office for the Assistant Secretary of State, South Asian Affairs, located in the Harry S Truman Building, reflects an executive's office suite with the selection of finishes and furnishings. Every opportunity to gain daylight in the interior spaces became another goal for the project. Private offices with views of the Capitol incorporate translucent sidelights to further generate a feeling of openness throughout. Furnishings displayed in recessed coves and shelves complement the paintings and artifacts from South Asia. Maple wall panels, doors, and millwork enhance the warmth within the space.
