American Sugarbeet Headquarters Office

This interior renovation sought to transform an out-of-date office suite into a highly customized hub for the relocation of the American Sugarbeet Growers Association. The organization which legislatively and internationally represents the interests of Sugarbeet farmers was looking for a space to capture their unique character. The design aims to create a sense of familiarity and dialogue between the farmer’s they serve and the legislators they host.

The interior design inspiration came from the notion of the idyllic agricultural landscape; earthy hues and rich textures under a clear blue sky. Translating these ideas into their space we focused on balancing this connection to the landscape with a light and airy cosmopolitan sensibility. Textural interest was channeled into a unique carpet-tile design that echoes crop rows or striations in a roots surface. The addition of a sky-blue accent wall in their reception acts like a window into expansive space.

The 2,200 sqft space, located in the heart of Washington, D.C., consists of a reception area, 5 glass-walled private offices, generous conference room, work room and pantry.
