Senior Interior Designer Richard Gerdes has been involved in the design of commercial interiors in Washington, DC for more than twenty years. At KCCT, he works with the Interiors group where he translates his clients’ needs into functional and aesthetically beautiful environments. Inspired by how clean, pure, and simplistic design impacts the environment, Richard is intimately involved with every detail of a project and leaves nothing to chance. Richard oversees the selection of finishes and furnishings for office interiors, as well as creating construction documents and providing on-site construction administration. His career background includes designs for law offices, non-profit organizations, government workplaces, US embassies and private corporations.
A DC local, Richard studied design at the University of Maryland where he received his Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. In keeping with his love of design, Richard spends much of his free time restoring his 90-year old Spanish bungalow, touring Virginia’s wineries, as well as gardening and attending vintage car shows.
