Gopal Mainali is a Designer at KCCT, bringing 16 years of experience in architectural design services for commercial, institutional, and residential projects in the Washington DC area. Inspired by his desire to create healthy housing and school buildings, and the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, Gopal is responsible for the preparation of construction documents, engineering coordination (structural, civil and MEP, and contractors), and reviewing coordinated shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs. Gopal has been instrumental in the design and construction of several local elementary schools and community centers. His architectural interests include investigating new building materials and construction techniques, as well as exploring new building design methodology.
Originally from Nepal, Gopal earned his Master’s in Urban Planning from the International Institute of the Netherlands, and his Bachelor of Architecture from Nagur University in India. In his free time, he enjoys exploring and learning about Nepalese Architecture and culture and is currently teaching his son about Nepali’s foods and customs.
